Those commissioned are: i) St Theresa Community Village Information Centre in Rusape, Manicaland Province; ii) Nyadire , Community Village Information Centres in Mutoko, Mashonaland East Province; and iii) Brunapeg Community Village Information Centre in Matabeleland South Province.

March 25, 2021National ICT Device Factory commissioned by HE @edmnangagwa. Factory is a joint venture between the Office of the President and Cabinet, TelOne and Chinese Inspur Group. The Factory has a production capacity of 150 000 units per year and is expected to employ over 300 workers.

The Ministry of Information Communication Technologies, Postal and Courier services completed the development of its five-year strategic plan, which will dovetail with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Masterplan. Government anticipates that the ICT sector will drive the Zimbabwean economy going forward.

The Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services reported that six (6) shared base stations have been completed at Showgrounds, Domboshava; Cowdry Park in Bulawayo; Zindoga in Harare; Ruwange in Nyanga; Chikonohono in Chinhoyi and Mandara in Harare. A total of 10 fully furnished and equipped Community Information Centres (CICs) were established.

Zimbabwe has obtained three separate loans of just over US$108,3 million from the Export-Import Bank of China and Export-Import Bank of India to be used for power generation projects and broadband expansion. Government tied a loan agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China of ¥465 050 000 (US$65 852 350) on June 26, while the Exim-Import Bank of India released two loans of US$23 million and US$19,5 million.

At the invitation of Gold Grace International Telecom Holdings Limited, a telecom delegation of the Zimbabwe Government arrived in Beijing, China for a one-week visit to the telecommunications industry. Telecom officials of the Zimbabwean administration conducted in-depth communication and exchange with the Chinese telecom authority and major operators, and achieved full, constructive consensus, laying a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the future.
